Reminiscing today about past gadgets and technology.

I purchased the GV-500 when it was brand new on the market. I was in the Canadian Navy at the time and thought it would be great to use in my bunk. Big price to swallow back then, but sure worked great for the 'free' time to go by. I had a home stereo video-8 player to make all my tapes for the trips. Although I watched a video on the unit that said it only received 'over the air' stations, I am pretty sure I was able to watch the ships broadcasts (they may have been over the air though), in it's time, it was a pretty incredible unit. Lent it to a person I knew who wanted to transfer all his video-8 to VHS and have never seen it since. Sounds like it is pretty hard to find one still working, but wish I still had it for display and conversation.
