Sony MHC-GX40 Reviews
Fantastic
This unit plays sound wonderfully. I'm someone who constantly burns CDs at all different speeds and it has yet to fail me. The 3 disc changer is handy for not having to constantly stopping the song, ejecting, and putting in a another disc.I usually screw up cassette tapes when I play them, getting the tape everywhere. I haven't done that once with the unit. I can't say much for the recording or CD sync, as for I don't have much use for that.
It comes with 30 preset radio stations, but again I don't have much use for that. But from what I can see you need extra wires and what not for it. The unit was given to me from a friend who cleaned old houses, so I don't know if I have it all.
The sub woofer is great. Just for the heck of it I turned the "groove" feature on, maxed out the volume. The sheer pain of having so many decibels and sound waves launch at me made me realize what such a powerful thing I had. I put my hand in front of the hole and air SHOT out, much like an air cannon.
It comes equipped with a game sync feature that allows you to mix CD songs and the sounds from the game. It has three settings: Low, Medium, or High for how much mixing you want.
It also sports three effects: Music, Movie, and Game. Personally I feel the music effect dulls the sound. The game sound it suiting and the movie setting is good even for common TV shows.
All in all, it's wonderful, even without the remote or radio available to me. I have had no experience with Customer Service, one because it is so tough. It's Sony, so expect great customer service.
