I don't recommand

I bought that fridge in January 2012, brand new. Last year, in summer, I have started to notice that my vegetables and fruits had a tendancy to freeze. This summer, it is terrible. We tried to change the temperature on the control, now the freezer is too warm... We have to partially tape the vent in the fridge. We called a tech and apparently we have to change the control. $285.00, part and installation. Not happy! Not garantee anymore.

non functioning

bought the fridge / freezer 6 months ago and already not working. Started with the icemaker kept clicking then immediately unit stopped cooling. Motor kicks on, inside lights working. Logged onto web site to schedule repair and they say soonest is 10 days...seriously??? I will never purchase another whirlpool fridge if this is how the service and product quality stands

Not a great Refrigerator

I bought this refrigerator two years ago when my Maytag side by side died after 15 years. I wanted a good reliable side by side. I went to Lowe's and they recommended this model because it was in stock, they had it in white, I wanted stainless steal but the wife did not. We were tight on money and they told us it was as good as our old Maytag. It still cost over $900 and it was not as good as my Maytag. It should have been painted yellow like the lemon it was. The interior is mostly plastic and glass. One of the refrigerator door shelf bins broke within the first 4 months we owned it. Whirlpool was good and sent us a replacement free. However, that should have been a warning to us about the quality of the product. The crisper pan support cracked this year and needed to be replaced $82.26 and two refrigerator door shelf bins including the one that was already replaced have cracked and need to be replaced again. They are suppose to hold 2 each one gallon jugs of milk, but apparently not for very long. Each of those shelf bins costs $46.80 for a grand total of 175.86. The temperature of the refrigerator is hard to adjust to get an even temperature. If you adjust it so the lower shelves remain cool about about 46 degrees then the upper shelves freeze. I have had move then one container of strawberries be frozen. The ice maker and water dispenser work well but the filter has to be replaced every 6 months and cost about $50.00 to replace. This would not be a terrible expense except for all the other costs and problems with the refrigerator. I cannot recommend this refrigerator. I am so disenchanted with Whirlpool engineering that I may never buy that brand again for any product.
