Broken Already!

I purchased my gas oven during a remodel. (September 2010) My oven was not delivered until November. By October, my oven was not working properly. It sometimes would light and get to temp, but then not maintain temp. Later, it sounded like it lit and then just goes out, continues to try to light and never does! I am so disappointed that even though the oven has not been in my possession for a year, the warranty was not honored. The estimate for the repair based on a conversation with repairman is going to be appox. $230. WOW! I didn't pay more than $500 and that seems very high and the repairman has experienced this before.....so, is this a common problem? It seems so!
