XEROX DocuColor 242 - A workhorse

The 240 series is a great machine with a few setbacks. This series has a bad duplex registration problem that gets worse over time. It also has a bad habit of spraying toner between the cartridge and the application rollers requiring pretty regular vacuuming or dusting. This has the added drawback of exposing the print rollers to light, which is not recommended. Typical jamming problems on heavy coated stock can be an irritation but that is more due to the paper grain than the machine itself. Biggest problem is Xerox sales and financing. Get a full sales price and lease rate breakdown and drive a hard bargain because Xerox is extremely proud of their machines.
