Washer Door Seal damage and Leak which may fill lower pedestal!

I purchased the GE Washer (GFWN1100L) from Home Depot 15 months ago and have been very happy with the washer until the door seal started leaking. Unfortunately I did not find the door seal damage until the leak had filled up the entire lower pedestal drawer and overflowed onto my upstairs utility floor. The seal design seems to stick and pull away when the door opens and closes and over time it can tear. As was the case here.
