Whirlpool WTW5500XW Reviews
World's Worse Washing Waste of Money
The unit did ok for three years and then hell came to the surface. The wash quality started going downhill and soon after the electronic control panel went totally flukey and the unit won't lock, sense, or wash. Cost of repair is approaching cost of replacement so...so much for Whirlpool!! HE washers are notoriously so-so at beast and known to be problematic so we might just go Speed Queen since they're US made with a "real agitator", instead of just plain agitating!!Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine
This is the biggest pile of crap i have ever owned its not even worthy of the scrap yardWhirlpool Cabrio Washing machine # WTW5500XW
Is aweful!
Purchased couple of years ago and hated it from day one! Never provides enough water to get clothes clean even if I put on second rinse cycle. Numerous times I've found clothes still dry after second run and not clean. Plus I get horrible odor if I leave the clothes in there too long although I use afresh as recommended more than the directions tell u you need to.
Would love to have that sensor removed or altered so that the water level gets to an appropriate level to actually wash my clothes properly.
Buyer beware do not purchase this washing machine!!
I want my old style machine back!
We purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio washer (model # WTW5500XW3) and dryer (model # J6C1536ADS15) in January 2013. Neither has worked properly since the very first load of wash we did in them. The washer leaves very large amounts of lint on clothes; we have to wash clothing two and three times to remove the lint, and sometimes even then the lint sticks. I don't know where it's coming from. Three different repair technicians have done diagnostics on the machine, replacing a sensor, but find nothing else wrong. Yet each technician commented on the large amount of lint remaining on clothing. AND one tech told us he'd have to charge us for the repair call despite its being under warranty! We shouldn't have been surprised at that threat; several Whirlpool employees have been downright rude on the phone. The dryer doesn't dry clothing in a normal amount of time and doesn't dry evenly. We would like to exchange these machines. Unfortunately, we are very dissatisfied with both machines even though up onto now we've always liked Whirlpool products.
